Just I was going thru some wiki links like everyday.
Since when I moved out of Bengal, I have been criticized heavily for my particular pronunciation of ड़ or ढ़ as र.
I always felt I pronounced correctly but I wondered people never agreed. Place changed, so as the people but same criticism.
Though I never really felt bad, because except that particular issue, people always had high opinion on my hindi, and never at first place they guessed that am a Bengali (considering Bengali people speaks terrible Hindi :P ), and they used to get surprise after knowing that am actually from Bengal.
But time and often that issue really itched me.
Now I got this.

They do not have contrastive nasalized vowels or a distinction in approximant র /ɹ/ and flap ড়/ঢ় /ɽ/, pronouncing them all as র /ɹ/. This is also true of the Sylheti dialect, which has been influenced by Assamese, and is often considered a separate language. The Eastern dialects extend into Southeastern dialects, which include parts of Chittagong. ढ़ is written in bengali as ঢ়
र is written in bengali as র
And native people from Dhaka district pronounced all of them as " र ".
Now am sure, I was making mistake every-time. But at the same time am happy. I always wondered like being a guys from Hindi medium school, and after spending so much time with Bihar-Up guys in school days how can this serious bug persist in my Hindi.
